About MeI am thrilled to be teaching art again this year. This will be my 13th year in my classroom! Time flies when you are teaching art.
I received my art education degree from the University of Wisconsin Parkside in 2004 and my masters degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from National Louis University in 2009. I am married and reside in Wisconsin with my husband, daughter, two sons, and two step-daughters. When I am not busy with family and friends, I create artwork for my the Lemon Street Gallery in Kenosha and I always find the time to read a good book :) My own personal artwork can be found on Instagram @alisonmerritt.art. |
About My Class |
My class is a place for students to learn the language of art. I strive for students to be able to explore the four main categories of art: art production, art criticism, art history, and aesthetics. Students will not only learn to explore and appreciate art, they will also learn the important life skills to celebrate the differences, embrace diversity, and learn to think in creative and innovative ways.
